97 mercury cougar park lights and dash lights will not turn off

Check the main light switch. Park lamps does not utilise any relays and if it is stying on means the switch is not being turned off.

I already tryed a new light switch and they still stay on even when I unplug the switch. Do you now anything about a relay BWD(automatic headlight relay) thats what advance auto parts told me to try but Iam not sure yet where its located? Thanks for replying.

Yes, there is an autolamp dual coil relay for autolamp/delayed exit, behind instrument panel, right side of steering column.
If it is stuck in on position, it can result in the lights staying on.
