What is causing my car to overheat?

I just recently got a tune up about three days ago, and last night the car started to overheat. I have replaced the antifreeze this morning and was told to replace the thermostat. What else could be the problem if replacing the thermostat doesn't work?

Check cooling fans are turning on, are you loosing any coolant at all?
