I got this truck from my uncle and since he's had it, its had this problem. When first taking off from a stationary position you have to be in 2 and once you get to between 15 and 20 mph you can shift back to drive. Every stop sign or light you come to you have to shift back into 2. What do you think could be the problem?

Your best bet would be to take it to a shop that specializes in trans work. Your issue could be caused by so many things, it could be a bad sensor causing it to be in limp mode, a pump or pressure problem, a solenoid, valve body, ect. Checking and testing these things requires specific equipment and knowledge.
