1997 Mazda B2300 Automatic Shift Lever Stuck Park Replaced Brake Light Switch

It is a automatic and the shift lever is stuck in Park. I replaced the brake light switch but still have no brake lights and it still will not unlock the shift lever. The parking lights do work when the lights are on and the turn signals work. Only the brake lights do not work and it does not unlock the shift lever.
