Is it really possible that oil can leak thru the valve cover gasket directly into the cylinder-combustion chamber, exhaust manifold and eventually soak the spark plug?

a lot of times, when you remove the plugs, they are in the tube. the tube fills with oil from the valve cover leaking the when you remove the plug, it looks soaked with oil.
