Recently the town car was having trouble shifting out of Park. I would have to apply the brake multiple times to release gear shift. So I replaced the stop light switch, repaired a slightly burnt out wire near the brake pedal. Tested power going into the switch (yes) tested power from the switch when applied (yes). Now the vehicle still will not shift and now I no longer have brake lights. Out of options on where to look to next.

Your owners manual has an alternative method for shifting out of park, if you haven't already tried it? Don't drive it without brake lites.
