engine lost power completely but idles fine (not out of gas). In drive or reverse, the car sits like in idle and some engine rattling noises.

Sounds like transmission is slipping
In drive or reverse, the car sits like in idle and some engine rattling noises.-Check the transmission fluid level and condition-start here and then let me know-When was the last time the transmission was serviced? Also do you have a check engine light?
