It will crank up and go for about half a mile then it will start to bog down and cut off so I crank back up and every time I mash the gas it loses power and cuts off

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Has the fuel filter ever been replaced?

I had a feeling that is where it was coming from. Think about it. The harder you push on the throttle, the more fuel is required. If the fuel isn't there, it will bog.

Let me know if you have other questions.
