1997 Jeep Laredo Bad ignition switch

Cranks but wont run sometimes, on/off instrument lights, runs good when runs, computer, coil, plugs, cap&rotor, vacuum, all good. Suspect is bad ignition switch. Can I hot wire ignition to test circuit? Is there a way?

No don't hotwire try resetting security system first. Then check wiring harness at rear of engine to see if it has worn through. That is a problem with older jeeps with 4.0L. It's by the stud in head.
