1997 Jeep Laredo Bad ignition switch

Cranks but wont run sometimes, on/off instrument lights, runs good when runs, computer, coil, plugs,cap&rotor, vacuum,all good. suspect is bad ignition switch. Can I hot wire ignition to test circuit? Is there a way?

no don't hotwire try resetting security system first. then check wiring harness at rear of engine to see if it has worn through. that is a problem with older jeeps with 4.0L. it's by the stud in head.
