97 Gand Cherokee limited 5.2 shuts off during turns and acceleration

During sudden acceleration and turns the Jeep engine dies. It seems like a short maybe in the wiring to the pump, but I have checked the wires from under the back seat to the tank. Could the issue be in the pump itself?

You need to grab the wiring harness while the vehicle is running and in park. Just tug and pull wires all over till it dies. This usually narrows the area down to were the short is. Sounds like it is near the steering shaft going down to the frame.
