the trouble code reads p1391 and reads manufacturer controlled ignition or misfire. what do i replace to correct this?

You are loosing signal from the crankshaft or camshaft sensor. Check for wiring issues. Chance are if the wiring is good, one of the sensors is the problem (usually the crankshaft sensor)
