1997 Honda Passport Started Cold Vehicle Runs Poorly First Several Minutes

When started cold, the vehicle runs poorly for the first several minutes. Its hard to rev up, lacks power on acceleration and stalls when stopping. After several minutes it then runs fine and drives normally until it is allowed to sit and get cold again. No trouble codes are found.

Have the spark plug wires checked.
