After replacing the coil pack, spark plugs, wires and pcv valve, i now hear a 'clacking" noise on the intake manifold side. truck is running rough, although has plenty of power and mileage is the same. the sound goes away when turning left or depressing clutch.

None of that ties together. If the noise goes away with the clutch, I would think throw out bearing. With the steering, I would say PS pump... However, none of them are related to the tune up. Have a helper push the clutch and turn the steering wheel to see if you can locate where the noise is coming from. Let me know what you find.
