after changing steering column I can't get it to start

i just changed the steering column in a 97 gmc sierra and need to know how to override the security system for the new ignition, I need to know how to override security

no override. if has security then you need to put it back in. you have to change the lock cylinder and switch from your old one and install it in the new or other column
