Oil pump pressure

I have a 1997 Safari Vortic 4300 V6, 39,3500mi
The oil pump was changed mid July.
Oil readings read. Cold 60 - hot, driving 58, at a stop light reads 20 / 40
Is this normal?
I bought the van new in '97. The oil pressure always sat at 40 or below.

Yes, well above normal. If you used 20-50, it will stabilize the oil pressure and keep it constant.

I DO NOT recommend using 20W50 in that engine. The later models have dramatically decreased the oil clearances to accommodate thinner oils which they were forced to use to attain higher fuel mileage. Using a heavy oil like that will lead to dry cold starts and severe engine wear. As long as your oil pressure isn't dropping below 8PSI, you really don't have a problem.
