Replacement of bulbs in heater controls and speedometer

I have a 97 geo prizm and have a burned out bulb behind the heater controls and the speedometer. Do I remove the plastic facia to remove the bulb ? if so, how do I remove it without breaking ?

The blubs should just twist out the back if there servicable.
