1997 Geo Prizm Engine Rattling

Engine rattles when it is on, However the rattling increases when the car is in drive and reverse yet when I step on the gas it goes away. Can you help me with this? Thank you

disconnect belt and see if it stops if not then it may be an internal engine problem and have apro look at it.

Hi Samanthagoins,

It sounds like you have a broken flex plate which is located between the engine and transmission.
