1997 Ford Ranger help I cant see

So I figured it has to be the reverse light switch. So I got a new one and no back up lights. What else could it be? Its a base model and has nothing extra. Please help.

It may be the range selector as well which is in the trans. Check fuse 26 and ground behind left cowl panel.
