I have a 1997 Ford Mustang and about a week ago everything within my instrumental cluster (my fuel gauge, engine coolant temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, battery gauge, speedometer, tachometer, and all my indicator lights not including my warning & high beam light indicators though) stopped working. I have been driving with it like this because I have not had time to change the fuse, but just the other day I finally had time so I replaced the fuse and my cluster worked again as soon as I did that, but when I went to turn my car on again after that, the whole cluster stopped working again, what is causing this to happen? There is also a warning chime that goes off for about 3 minutes now when I start my car and it'll stop for about 30 minutes and start chiming again (I believe this chiming noise may just be a warning that none of my gauges are working, but I am not sure)please help me find out what is causing this. Thank you.

This sounds like you have a cluster that is going out but lets look at the wiring diagrams to see if anything else is on the circuit. I checked it out and the door chime is on the same circuit. Here are the diagrams so you can see for yourself.

Unplug the chime and replace the fuse to test. If the fuse still blows its the cluster if not it will be the chime.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers
