I just replace the ignition cylinder, now it wont stay on

I just replace the ignition cylinder on my 97 mustang, now it wont stay on when i move the key from the start position to the on position.

is the security light on??

why did you replace it??

Someone tryed to steal my car, and busted out the old one. As far a security lights, there is a orange/yellow light that reads "theft" that blinks on the instrument panel.

yep, secuirty issue. you will need to have it programmed at ford. they are the only ones who can program decurity issues unless you have the equipment which I doubt
