The fan was not working so we connected with the battery. We then decided to change the heat switch with a universal one but the gage in the dash board remains continuously up. Please confirm what must be done.

we have no info on this car as it's not in U.S. but put correct switch in first then if gauge is still on hot check for agrounded wire. aslo check to see if relay underhood and fuse is good one may not be. you can switch relays with a like relay to test.
