My truck has a 4.6 liter engine , diagnostic test says missfire in cylinder #8 . I tested the coil with and ohms meter and it test allright . I smell gas in the exhaust when i start the truck which tells me that the injector is good . this would leave me with the problem being either the plug or plug wire !
Question is ??? can i remove the spark plug boot , leave the old plug in the cylinder and put a new plug in the boot and test for spark ???

yes, good idea.

the coil can still be bad with a good ohm reading.

is there any coolant in the tube for number 8????
