1997 ford explorer. Just changed brakes and wouldn't start. Took battery to Midas for recharge. Started perfectly but now when car is stopped like at a stop light the battery falls but as soon as you gas it, it goes back to middle. Any guesses?

Alternator? Have checked also load test battery Have the battery fully recharged again and have it load tested at a parts store to see if it holds up. Alsol, have the alternator tested. Unless the idle is really low, the alt should maintain a good charge.

Let me know what you find. Also, most part stores will check both for free.

After the battery is disconnected, it takes several drive cycles for the computer(PCM) to relearn it's parameters, give it a week and see if corrects. Is the check engine light on?

The check engine light is on. We had the engine replaced on the side last year. When I had it checked at auto zone they said it was the o2 sensor.
