My 97 Ford Explorer idles rough during cold start up but after it warms up it idles fine

Have changed idle sensor, mass airflow sensor, throttle sensor, plugs and wires, thermostat, thermostat housing, and cleaned the throttle body. All parts that were changed were new.

Wow, lots of parts with no results.

This motor has huge issues with vacuum leaks at the upper intake when cold. The seals have been updated many times over the years trying to make seals that last.

Have it smoke tested to verify. Simple test and straight forward repair.

Thank you for your answer. I have another question for you. Would spraying carburetor cleaner around the upper air intake be the same as the smoke test that you told me to have done.

Yep but it has to be cold and the seals take very little time to seal once the motor starts. You would need 2 people to verify. Be careful you dont use too much, the stuff is flammable.
