Riding in my ford windstar lost my drive gear all other gears work fine.

So you lost your over drive gear does it take off in drive and shift thru all the gears expect it won't shift into overdrive?Or when you put it in drive it won't move at all?

Yes it takes off in drive and shift through gears up to 30 mph

The first thing I would do is have it checked for codes let me know what the exact code numbers are.

The code its self if torque convertor clutch solenoid circuit failure. But I was looking that up on a ford escort the same year I wouldnt be able to get you the actual trouble tree for that model car or wire diagram. Also wouldnt be able to see if there are any techinical service bulletines on that code for that year and model.
