1997 Dodge Ram po740 code

the transmission is not shifting right and the rpm is high, I had it tested and they came up with a code of po740 says its the torque converter clutch colenoid.

that isn't exactly correct what is happening you have no rpm drop when the converter is supposed to engage so it' probably a bad converter have a trans guy check this

it s that area but the solenoid may be working but because of no rpm drop due to maybe a bad torque converter clutch then it kicks back off and sends the code so a trans guy should check this . replacing the solenoid wold probably be a waste of money.
