1997 Dodge Ram Both Headlights Stopped Working Rarely Drive Night This

Both my headlights stopped working. I rarely drive at night so I do not know when this happened. Last time I used them they would not come on and when I turned the truck off and on again the lights came on.

Could be one of several issues, headlamp switch--dimmer switch--fuse--wiring circuit.

Check fuse 6--40 amp, underhood fuse box. Not only check the fuse, check for voltage on the fuse circuit. At the headlamp connector, red wire is voltage for high beam, violet wire is voltage for low beam. The info I looked at was with drl.
