I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota that loose oil pressusre and then it will comes back. changed oil and fillter a coupl of times, it still comes and goes. Is there an answer for this problem.

could be a clogged pick up screen or a bad oil pump.

before assuming it is a true reading, have the oil pressure checked manually first.

does the motor make noise while it goes to 0???

i PUT A MANUAL GAUGE ON AN IT DID THE SAME.

ok, the problem is confirmed. i would start by dropping the oil pan and checking the pick up screen for blockage from sludge from the oil pan

i just checked for tsb or recalls and none although i have seen this before and it most commonly was the pick up screen.
