Oil pressure problem

Is there a screen to clean? What's involved to change oil pump?I don, t think it is a gauge problem. When idle, needle falls to zero. Check engine light comes on. (Oil level ok on dipstick.)Rib up rpm. Needle to 40. Light goes out. Thanks
