If you smell it when the heat is on, chances are the leak is under the hood. Check the fuel supply from the tank where it attaches to the fuel rail. Also, check all injectors to make sure they are not leaking.

NOTE: It is common for the fuel lines to rust out in front of the driver's side rear wheel. Check there for leaks. Keep in mind, fuel evaporates fast, so check as soon as you shut the engine or while it is running, in park and with the park brake on.
