1997 Chrysler Concorde LX Auto Transmission only 2 gears

Vehicle had sat for a few months, after restarting and driving approx. 30 miles, vehicle sat overnight, then next day it only had 2nd gear and reverse. It will not shift out of 2nd gear no matter what except to go to neutral, park, or reverse, even if manually shifting to another drive gear. Suggestions?

Trans in "limp in mode" need to have scan done to find fault. Maybe a sensor

I will have that done this week. Didn't think about it cause no Check Engine Light or anything has lit up. Thanks for the input.

Sometimes get light and not but trans operation indicates limp mode
