1997 Chevrolet Truck I Replaced the Stock Tape Player Radio with CD Player and the Wires

I replaced the stock tape player radio with CD player and the wires touched the heater control unit and sparked and now my heat doesn't work but the blower still operates. What is a quick easy way to fix it at home?
