Lost Compresion on chevy 5.7 V-8 on #4 & 6 cylincers.
Was told could be valves, gaskets (head, valve cover, or exhaust). Any suggestions. Vehicle did overhead and shut down but ran for 2 weeks after that no problem after replacing water pump and radiator and flush. Runs fine at idle and when under load tings like timing or distributor off or bad gas but shop diagnosed as compresion lost and possible valve problem but other mechanics doubted and gave gasket or head/exhaust manifold advise.
