1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo overheating

Do they make a special wrench to get the bottom bolt out of the thermostat housing without having to take the exhaust manifold off.I tried every wrench I have and swivel socket

If you have air tools and the exhaust pipe bolt are not too rusty then I would suggest loosing or removing the exhaust pipe to gain access to the bottom bolt.
If you haven't already looked, search thermostat removal on you tube for you same motor. "Like 3.1 thermostat removal"
Removing the exhaust is the only way i've done it.
