engine oil is getting contaminated with coolant

I have a 97 Chevy Monte Carlo 110,000 miles its overheating and oil in engine is sort of thick like cold cooking lard and sounds like lawnmower when i start it. I,m tired of giving my money to mechanics who don't fix the problem please give a lady some help. It has been going on for two months also rattling noise but runs

Sounds like coolant is mixing with the oil-have it block and pressure tested to rule out a blown headgasket
