When turning the key to acc position all dash lights come on. Turn key to on position all dash lights stay on for a few seconds. Theft system light stays on (does not blink). Try to start car and get nothing. No ticking, no cranking, lights do not dim. Theft light turns off but car does not start. Tried locking and unlocking drivers door with key heard that disables anti theft system did not work. Disconnected battery for 15 mins. Reconnected tried to start and nothing again. Yesterday was working fine. A week ago had to start it twice cause first turn didnt take think my finger slipped off the key too quick. But only starting problem I've had till now. Any ideas? Cause im totally out. Thanks for responding in advance.

Instructions
1
Insert the correct key into the driver side door and unlock the Malibu. Enter the vehicle and close all the doors.
2
Insert the key into the ignition without turning the cylinder and check the instrument panel behind the steering wheel. If you see nothing flashing (the security light), then the system is not activated and no one has attempted to illegally access your car. If you do see the theft light flashing, wait 30 seconds or until the light stops flashing

3
Turn the ignition and start the Malibu engine once the light turns off. This will reset the Passlock system.
