What could cause a P0113 on a '97 Malibu 3.1L sedan, auto trans

Intake air temp sensor high input, sensor is located in the air snorkel that runs from air filter housing to throotle body, see if it is unplugged.

Plugged in, checked connections all good, could it be the MAF Sensor?

No, while some cars have IAT sensor built into the MAF sensor, this one does'nt. It has a stand alone IAT sensor.

It must be a bad sensor then, this is the first time this has happened.

Ok, if you have located the IAT sensor, check the pins in the sensor, make sure they are not bent, also the wiring to the sensor, pull it out of the black loom to make sure a wire is'nt broken inside. Let me know

Will do, the car is at my parents place but as soon as I can I will let you know. I looked at it this morn. Before dad had P0442, and that hasn't come back on.
