my car stalls when driving meanwhile doing that it smells like gas my car is a chevy lumina 97 3.4 engine

My car when it runs for a while it stalls, the engine shakes and feels like it wants to turn of all together, when its doing that a smell of gas is released from the engine.

is CEL on? does it do it cold and warm? when was last checkup/tuneup?

Yes the CEL sometimes comes on. It does it when the car is war. The last checkup/ tuneup has been more than 8 months i believe.
