speepometer dont work

someone installed a after market radio in my 97 chevy cavalier now the speedometer dont work theres wire down on the radiowire harness thats vehicle speed sensor wire i was told thats why speedometer dont work and theres away to bypass that this is what a guy at the auto parts store told me had the thing wrong in his chrvy truck around the same year as my car

So you have power wires running next to the vechile speed sensor wires?

yes the radio power wires there in the same harness

Theres your problem your getting emi electromagnetic interfernce on your speed signal circuit.Your going to have to reroute the those power wires.

what do i do with the speed senor wire its has a bare end and its in the same wire bunch the speed senor wire when i ground it to the radio the speedometer jumps up and down is there away to loop it back in the system i was told there was but the guy didnt know where to put it this is my cell number if you could call me i could tell you more about it i dont type and spell very well 507 340 0892 ty for youe help

Sorry i dont call people dont want to get my phone number out there.But i will do my best to help you on here iam not a big fan of typing myself.So the wires going to your speed sensor are damaged or there good?If there good your best bet would be to move the power wires to the radio or get some shielded wrap for the speed sensor wires.When i worked at saturn we used it for emi affected wires.

ill try to do that im from minnesota its late here ill let u know what i find out tommrow ty for your help this car is my 15 yr old daughter cars i need it working right for her i am unemployed and cant afford to take it in to get fixed your help means a lot to me and her ty very much
