How do I replace a piston rod

That is a major repair and very involved. The engine will need taken apart. It would take me 10 pages to explain how this is done and the internet allows too much room for error. Therefore, I recommend you get a good repair manual that has an engine overhaul section with directions and pics to help identify parts.
