Heat seems to work but AC blows hot, compressor was changed and so on

My 1997 cadillac has a message saying AC compressor off service AC how do I find the problem, it says somethying about sensors in manual

You need to have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from.

Is their any way to pull up codes through the cumputer in car, my 91 caddy could by pushing a few buttons on climate control at same time then it would flash code numbers(if any) then you find out what code means. Thank You
