The cause could very well be a cracked or dry-rotted vacuum hose, but there is no diagnostic fault code that specifies that. In fact, fault codes never say to replace parts or that they're defective. They only indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis or the unacceptable operating condition. We need to know the exact code number to know how to proceed. Chances are there's a long list of potential causes, and a vacuum leak is just one of them.
