my car has the resistor in the ignition key as well as the built in security system.
can i buy an after market remote starter/security system for this car?
is there a special kind i need?
i already have the wiring diagram with color codes and locations of the wires to hook one up.

there is a bypass module you can purchase that will allow the system to work. ask your provider for the remote.

the system i was looking at has the optional bypass,i wasn't sure what type, i know they have the transponder type and the resistor type.
i was also told that grounding the wire attached to the driver's door lock kills the built in security system all together.
i don't want to take chances unless i am well informed.
i got the car without a key FOB remote.
