my 1997 buick lesabre with 3.8L, automatic....cutoff at 50 mph today wjile driving..pretty scary! what could cause this? car was restarted and is driving...

It could be a few things. If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned to identify where the issue is being caused. Also, check fuel pump pressure. If it cut off all at once and then restarted, chances are it is an electrical issue such as a bad crank sensor.
