Cooling Fan

When car is idling, even if cool outside, cooling fan will engage with an increase in RPM, about every 3 minutes. Is this normal for this car or a sign of a future problem. Is this something unique to this engine that it revs up like this?

Have the coolant temperature sensor checked-when the fan kicks in the idle has to increase to compensate for the additional electrical load-dunno if yours is normal-could be

It's probably the A/C compressor cycling on and off with the defroster. The computer automatically increases the idle for the extra load of the compressor.
