Hello,

My car is throwing a P0138 O2 Sensor High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) CEL error code.

-Is "Sensor 2" the down-stream (post catalytic converter) oxygen sensor?
-Where is "Sensor 2" located?
-Would replacing the down-stream oxygen sensor fix this problem and get rid of the CEL?

I need to pass a emissions test and smog check ASAP. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Hello,

The sensor 2 is the oxygen sensor located after the catalytic converter.
I have attached a picture below showing the location of the sensor 2.

The code P0138 can be due to a bad oxygen sensor. But it can also be due to a fault in the oxygen sensor circuit.

I have attached a trouble shooting flow chart below for the code P0138.
Follow those steps and it can help you determine the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
