Primary hood release from cabin works fine. I cannot get the secondary hood release latch or safety latch to release so I can get the hood up. My wife has only had the car for about 4 months and I need to change the oil. How do I get it open so I can clean and lubricate or replace the safety latch.

It could be that the primary latch is not fully dis-engaging. Have an assistant hold the cable to the, "OPEN" position while you pull on hood and try releasing secondary latch while assistant holds primary open. If that does not work try some lubricant or you might have to gently hit the hood above the latch to release it. you might even have to get a screwdriver in there to get it open. I am including a walk through for this situation. Just use the link below;
