engine running rough, low power, power fluctuates back and forth

Volvo 960 1996 - Replaced ignition coils and connectors but problem continues. I replaced the ignition coils and connectors but continue to run rough. When you try to accelerate, feel low power,then suddenly power kicks in and out. Can run without a problem for a few miles then this issue kicks in.
