96 Passat radio code

Good day to all concerned,

I have a 96 vrg passat that I misplaced the code for the radio. I put in a new battery and later tried to reset the radio. I punched in the code wrong 3 times and now it's in lock mode and I can't get out. I tried disconnecting the battery again and reconnecting, turned the radio on and let the key sit in accessory position for half an hour. I then tried again to no avial

Got'cha! VW is the only company that will not provide radio codes. They want you to buy another radio. You can try the selling dealer on the slim chance they recorded it, but it is very unlikely they did. Without that code, the radio is useless, even for parts.
