hi there our vw fox 1996 model died and it won't start at all what could be the problem? the ignition turns it's as if it's not getting petrol. the ignition turns but it's as if it's not getting petrol.

The fuel pump or the fuel pump relay has probably failed. However, there are other possibilites such as a clogged fuel filter, if you have an external filter.
You can check the relay by turning the key to the, "RUN" psoition and no further. You should here a, "whirring" nosie which is the fuel pump priming the system for starting the engine.
If you hear it priming, then check the fuel pressure with a test pressure kit.
